ariens snowblower gearcase replacement trouble?
im replaceing a gearbox on an ariens snowblower i have taken out all the bolts but there is two roll pins that attaches the impeller to the worm shaft behind the gearbox that wont come out. is there special way i can take these out because i tryed everything and they wont budge
You need a punch as close to same size of he pin as you can find. If you do it right they will come out. You can heat them a bit but not too much.
One trick that I often used to remove an impeller from a shaft is to heat it red hot (the middle part of the impeller that is) and then drop it in a bucket of cold water. Make sure the water covers the impeller.
If it won’t come off repeat the procedure again. Don’t hit on it too hard because you can bend it.
