A Brief Review of Viking VGIC5304BSS by John
Most modern ranges have sealed burners to prevent food from falling beneath the surface. Unsealed or open burner gas ranges are less expensive than most models that feature sealed burners. Viking offers customers the Professional Custom Series VGIC5304B with four open burners, a 30-inch wide range with a slew of outstanding features. Although open burners are harder to clean than sealed burners, a Viking open burner range give cooks all the other benefits of Professional Custom Series units at a lower price.
The four open burners deliver 15,000 BTUs of cooking power each. Viking’s VariSimmer setting allows cooks to control the exact of heat needed on each burner, while the range’s SureSpark ignition ensures fast start-up and re-ignition. Burners light up regardless whether the knob controls are set at a high, medium or low temperature. The stove top has removable, porcelain burner caps and cast-iron surface grates that can be removed when you need to move large pots and pans. The grate supports have separate, removable burner bowls. The porcelain bowls are dishwasher-safe. Remove thee one-piece control panel to access the front of the unit for maintenance. Metal knobs with a stainless steel finish are standard with the VGIC5304B.
The four-cubic foot oven comes with three sturdy racks that can be used in six positions. The oven has four convection functions-bake, dehydrate, defrost and convection infrared broil. The ProFlow Air Baffle is utilized during the convection functions, allowing even heating for all dishes. This helps ensure that the center of your lasagna, for example, will heat as thoroughly as the outer edges. Use the convection fan switch on the control panel to cool things off when needed. Two bright halogen lights help you keep track of cooking progress even when you’re a few steps away from the oven.
You can always browse viking ranges for greater detail on features but one we’d like to highlight is the GourmetGlo Broiler that comes with a well-built grid and pan to keep juices from searing steak and fish in the broiling compartment. This 30,000 BTU U-shaped infrared broiler has all the power needed to make juicy meat, poultry to seafood dishes. The drip tray rests on roller bearing gliders for easy pull-out and clean-up.
The Viking VGIC5304B is available in several colors to match your home décor. From subdued Metallic Silver and Graphite Gray to Racing Red, Apple Red and Iridescent Blue, there’s a shade that’s sure to mesh with the rest of your kitchen. Of course, more conservative types can always choose the classic stainless steel model.
