how do you find an engine part name without any diagram?
There’s a pipe on my car which I assume is a breather pipe, yet I cant tell a company what to order if I don’t know the name. I can’t find a detailed engine diagram anywhere.the main dealer is too far away.
Go onto a auto parts website such as NAPA, enter your vehicle details, and then type in what you think is the name for it. It should show you a picture and then you might be able to tell if it is the same part. Another thing you might think about doing in the future (it has been a major help for me) is to buy a mechanics manual for your car. I got a Haynes manual off of Amazon for $15 and it has been wonderful. Even if I can’t do the repairs myself it has helped me understand parts a little better and I know a little more of what I’m talking about. Instead of just taking my car to the mechanic going “it’s making a funny noise from under the hood” I can do some troubleshooting and instead I can say “hey, its coming from here and I think it might be this or this” and you just sound a little more intelligent. And if you do ever use it for repairs, pretty much using it once will pay for itself.
