Which grates are better for gas grills – stainless steel or porcelain coated?
I sell grills at a Pool and Spa store, and i always find that the majority of people are happy with the porcelien, AS LONG AS ITS USED AND MAINTAINED PROPERLY! Yes, it will chip when not used right, but stainless doesnt hold flavor (which is its main purpose…) cast iron will rust very quickly.. Nothing is perfect. I personally use a coated grill, and find it cooks very evenly and holds heat well, and doesnt chip or anything when its treated right (ie no steel brushes, bumping into stuff, etc.)
