Duct Fans – what’s better?
So what’s better – inline duct fans or the kind that sit on top of the register? The ducts for my mstr. bdrm. run though the crawl space, up the garage wall, across the garage ceiling and into my room. The garage is drywalled and insulated but by the time the air gets there it’s cooled down some. I need something to force the air up there quicker, but will the fans throw the circulation off for the rest of the house?
If your talking about heated air moving it faster will just add to your cooling it off. You need to get the cooler air out of the room via the return air vents. The heat will travel to your room in it’s absence. AC cycle run at a faster blower speed but you still need to get hot air out of room via return air to create a natural convection of air flow to assist with comfort.
