Lawnboy lawn mower leaking oil onto the deck?
Went to mow the grass today, and realized I was pushing the lawnboy a little hard, so I went to stop and give it a rest after I saw a little smoke leave the side when I noticed the oil near the car.
Figured it might be the car, so after putting away the lawn mower I went to check it, but saw a trail of oil leading past my route to the garage.
Did I damage the mower? Or can the leak be fixed in an easy way? I’m not good at fix-its, and I’d rather not spend a fortune getting it fixed. Can anyone recommend a way to fix it please?

The most common cause of a Briggs leaking oil onto the mower deck is the oil fill tube is cracked, loose or the o-ring at the base of the tube is bad. Clean the dirt and oil off the deck and fill tube. remove it and check for cracks or a bad o-ring. There are usually one or two bolts that hold the tube in place and changing the o-ring is a simple procedure. The biggest concern is not letting any dirt or debris into the crankcase while you have things apart.
