Yes you can—but it is not advisable for several reasons—one is that sediment and impurities in the envoirnment can get into your tank easily corrupting your tank and fuel line—-it is an open invite for anyone with a mind to do so (or lack of one) to put stuff into your tank that can be extremely harmful to your engine—-and also (with gas prices being what they are ) it is an open invite for those with a tube to steal you blind—the first trip in they will make the cost of a replacement (found at any auto parts store) seem a trivial expense in the least—-hope this helps——
