Should I take my electric water fountain pump ..?
indoors for winter , or should I leave it in the pond
strange conflicting answeres , can ppl start voting for the right answere pls , as I am no wiser now than wen I first asked the question
Best to take it in, But if you leave it out don’t switch it on, when the water temp drops below 4 degrees the warmer water sinks to the bottom which is why water freezes on the top first. Any fish you have in there will take advantage of this and remain on the bottom, running the pump in the winter will circulate the water and take this warmer water away. You should also stop feeding your fish when the water temp drops to 10 degrees.
